​How do we make the world a better place?
It has to start within each one of us.
It tends to be the last place we look, 
as we reach out to others either trying to help them, 
or depend on them for our own sense of validation and worth.

Everyone says, "But you don't know my story!"  
"You don't know what I've been through".
Yes I do.
Everyone is broken to a degree. 
Everyone has been damaged.
Everyone has been let down by their parents. 
Everyone abused, abandoned and betrayed.
We all carry the helpless, innocent, victim child within us.
Healing and strengthening this child 
will bring you to a place of power.
You can own this power if you want to, 
it's already given.
Mostly it lays unclaimed, 
as if the responsibility to oneself is too great a task to uphold.
So you carry on bearing crosses, 
carrying the weight of the dead on your back, 
trudging miserably in self pity, unable to shed your grudges.
Waiting for another day to bring you rescue and respite.
Waiting for the one you blame to miraculously appear 
and put all your wrongs to right.
How much longer do you want to wait,
while the world calls your name to help make it turn the other way?
Take up all your problems in your arms and hold them dear.
These are all the excuses and resistances you have to growing powerful. They are not your enemies, but your beloved companions. 
Love them. Bless them. Take their gift and set them free.
It's time to grow. 
Come back to you.
Stand. For. You.

And love everything you've been avoiding.
Then you'll see the way.
Then you'll know how.
Then you can act On Purpose.
